Family & Organisation Constellations Learning Group

A six-session in person opportunity to experience and learn about Family and Organisation Constellations, and help me learn too. Facilitated by Justin Wise.

For the past ten years I have been studying Family and Organisation Constellations, a remarkable discipline that draws on body-centred practice to explore our relationship to the human systems that shape us and in which we participate. It offers rich ways to discover current narratives born from the systems we are part of: the interpretations, loyalties and entanglements that have us be as we are. And it is a way to discover powerful deeper narratives: images, imagination and new possibilities for taking up our places in these systems.

Over years of joining workshops and now learning to facilitate them, I have been consistently moved by the power of the approach to reveal hidden dynamics, bring them into view, and open new ways of belonging and responding to life. It is also coherent with the principles and philosophy of integral development coaching in some profound and resonant ways.

In a typical process, someone brings an issue they would like to work with. After a brief intake conversation, we set up a representation of their family or organisational system by inviting others to represent people or other elements. There is no acting, simply the practice of noticing what arises (feelings, sensations, thoughts) and making these available to the group. I may ask representatives to experiment with different positions in the group, or to try out sentences to see whether they ring true. My role is to guide the process through the stages of uncovering a current narrative and entering a deeper one, until we reach a resonant and liberating place to conclude.

ABOUT THE GROUP - LEARNING AND HELPING ME LEARN

I have been studying the facilitation of constellations for four years, and I am now making it central to my practice. To learn to do this work as fully as I wish I need other people and so I am setting up a six-month in-person group in London.

We will meet once a month on a Sunday evening for three hours. After checking in together, I will spend a short time exploring one aspect of the philosophy and practice of constellations, and then we will embark on one or two constellations with me as facilitator.

For this initial period I am looking to form a group of 8–12 people who will commit to attending every month, or the majority of months. There will be rich learning for everyone: you can expect to bring your own issues to work with at least once during the six months, and there is much to learn and many gifts in participating as a representative too. All I ask for is your presence and your willingness to be generous-spirited participants as I learn. That is why I am approaching the PCC Graduate community first, as the capacity for presence, openness and generosity of spirit is strong among us.

From the second month, you are welcome to bring someone who matters to you to join us. There will be some places for guests each month.
