Family & Organisation Constellations Practice Group

An opportunity to experience and learn about Family and Organisation Constellations with Justin

For the past 10 years I have been studying the practice of Family and Organisation Constellations. It’s a remarkable discipline which draws on body-centred practice to explore our relationship to the human systems which shape us and in which we participate. And it provides very rich ways to discover ‘current narratives’ for our participation - the interpretations, relationships, loyalties and entanglements which have us be as we are - and then evoke powerful and life-giving ‘deeper narratives’ - images, imagination and possibilities for relating to our place in these systems in new and liberating ways. Over these years of joining constellations workshops and now learning to facilitate them, I have been consistently moved by the power of the approach to reveal hidden dynamics, bring them into view, and offer new ways of responding to life in the light of what we find. And the method is coherent with the principles, distinctions and philosophy of integral development coaching in some very profound and resonant ways.

In a typical process, someone steps forward with an issue they would like to work with. After a brief intake conversation with me, we set up a representation of the family or organisational system by asking other people to represent people or other elements. There’s no acting involved - just the simple act of noticing the phenomena that arise (feelings, thoughts), and making them available to the group. I will sometimes ask representatives to experiment with standing in different places, or trying out sentences to say to see if they are true. My role is to guide the process through the stages of uncovering a current narrative and entering into a deeper one, until we reach a resonant place to stop.

I have been studying the facilitation of constellations over the past four years and am now embarking on it being central in my practice, and that’s only possible to do with other people to take part. And so I’m setting up a six-month in-person group in London. We’ll meet once a month on a Sunday evening for three hours, After checking in together I’ll spent a short while talking about one or another aspect of the philosophy of constellations practice, and then we’ll embark on 1-3 constellations with me as facilitator.

I’m looking to form for this initial period a group of 8-12 people who will commit to joining every month or the vast majority of months. There will be very rich learning for all of us, and you can expect to get to work with your own issues that matter to you at least once during this period, maybe more. There is much to learn and many gifts in participating as a representative too. So I expect we’ll all gain an enormous amount by taking part, and all I ask if for your presence and your willingness to help me learn by being generous-spirited participants. That’s why I am approaching our PCC Graduate community in the first instance, because I know that the capacity to be present, open, truthful, and generous-spirited is strong among us.

It may be that after the first month you can bring each time someone who matters to you to come and take part alongside us.

I hope you’ll feel inspired and excited about the opportunity - I most certainly am - and that you’ll choose to join us.
